Deadmau5 style chords

US2K Review: The mix Optima begins with a bass drum, and a synthesiser organ which nicely rises with a filter sweep riff, after a splash sound effect to the 20 second mark. The bass drum drops and the organ riff plays again after 24 seconds and an another affect, but this time following a catchy chord progression, with a hi hat/shaker, joined occasionally on the left of the stereo-field by a high pitched string. The bass drum pattern drops again at the second mark, creating a relaxing moment of reflection, re-stating the main theme and preparing the listener for a change, which takes place after a series of splash sound effects at the 1 minute 4 second mark which is the filter swept organ riff, joined by a another acid line synthesiser playing a harmonic melody. At the 2 minute 14 second mark the drum pattern drops once again allowing for an intense filter sweep rise on the organ sound. Onwards from this point this theme and the ones from earlier take it in turns to drive the mix to the conclusion. The mix finally fades out from the 2 minute 40 second mark. This mix is a well structured, appropiately varied to keep interest, professionally produced, including sound effects, and is a joy to listen to. My score is 10 out of 10, which is why it is in the chart and rising. This is an excellent electro/trance style track I certainly recommend that everyone has a listen to it.

Nige , give the one the old ear bashing , Trancey little number.

US2K Review: This techno-trance track begins with a whoosh sound effect followed by a slightly abstract but listen-able melody, accompanied by a bass drum and almost rocky sounding snare drum pattern. The track continues like this until the 32-second mark, the drums leave the mix and some horns introduce a hook formed from a more punchy melody formed from the introduction concept. After the 1 minute mark the rhythm drops again giving way to whooshing sounds and a return of the melody leading to a nice break at the 1 minute 59 second mark via an alternative melody which seems to answer the earlier themes, and nicely introduce a new conclusion theme which fully arrives at the 2 minute 34 second mark. This is a more rhythmic melody formed out of two synthesisers answering each other, there is a sense of a speed up of the tune. After the 5-minute mark and a another drop of the bass drum, on the return of the main arrangement the mix is extremely foot tapping and everything has indeed sped up. The mix is finally finished with a whoosh sound effect and a reverb treated solo synthesiser. My score of this is mix is 9 out of 10, it has an intelligent structure, snare rolls, and other sound effects are used effectively. There is also highly skilled mastering and production that is made apparent from the use of reverb and equalisation to polish things. This is not typically danceable but well worth a listen for an adventure into electronic creativity and art.

Nige m8 , after a long time working on this ditty i am happy with this mix , maybe you wont be..lol!!

US2K Review: This mix is a very good tech trance. The introduction is a bleepy acid-like filter synth riff. After 3 seconds a bass drum enters the mix. 8 seconds later this drum drops and an alarm like sound effect announced a change. This is a faster more foot tapping section of the mix, with an accent snare. The melody line melody is most likely to be formed from 16th notes with a slight delay. This section is also more bassy and has a second synth answering the main riff and later at 42 second mark the playing an additional higher octave melody, which is a hint of the hook which will finish the mix later. At the 1 minute 2 second mark the drums drop again after a snare roll. This leaves a duet of the lead and another synth before another snare roll at the 1 minute 8 second. This introduces a yet even more catchy melody which is heard along with some accenting and atmospheric synth and whoosh sound effects until the 1 minute 38 second mark. At this point is a different lead melody and snare which is joined by an accompaniment synth which forms a happier sounding middle 8 leading a to a really rising sound effect, and then a foot tapping/catchy hook melody riff, including a techno bassline, bass drum, snare and sound effects to finish on. The drums leave the arrangement at the 2 minute 36 second mark. Then there is a synth sound, snare rolls and a very atmospheric sound effect to finish on. The structure, arrangement and production of this mix is a little unorthodox in places but is intelligent and works superbly. The overall composition is foot tapping at times and generally fun to listen to. My score is 10 out of 10. This track is an essential listen for everyone and I have given it an honoury chart position with 2000 votes of my own.

Knocked it down to 110 b.p.m , relax and chill

US2K Review: This is a mellow, ambient slightly sci-fi sound track mix. The introduction consists of a main theme, an ambient lead playing a melody line at a high octave which although is not immediately catchy , is made interesting by a second synth sound playing a stab of notes that answers it. At the 26 second mark a bass drum, clap and snare enter the mix. From this point on there are variations in the melody, occasional acid bass sounds and other sound effects. At the 1 minute 34 mark there is the beginning of the last passage of this track which is formed from a more exciting up-beat variation of the main theme concept. This is avery well chosen arrangement and melody as it leads to the conclusion at 3:03 well, which a slower version of the melody proceeded with some extra finale synth sounds and percussive claps. On reviewing I think my original 8 of 10 for this mix was a little low, particularly as it is very imaginitive, interesting original, intelligently structured and well produced. I score it with 9 out of 10 and recommend everyone has a listen.

US2K Review: This is modern harder trance mix which begins with a hard bass drum with pounding bass line. After a few seconds a a skillfully used rising sweeping/whooshing sweep sound introduces a hook line melody, a squelchy acid-like lead line, which forms one of the main themes. This is shortly followed by another instrument to provide harmony, atmospheric sound effects and after 27 seconds into the mix , shortly after a bass drum roll, an accent snare joins the arrangement. After 47 seconds another synth sound is used to announce a variation of the main hook this time time accompanied by a rythmic apreggio like riff, forming a second key theme.Bass and snare rolls are used to keep the repeated theme interesting. After 1 minute 22 seconds the drums drop and the rising sweeping/whooshing and other sounds are used to begin another passage of music consisting of alternating variations of the themes from earlier occasionly filter sweeped and accompanied by alternive sound fx. Another bass instrument at a higher octave enters later in this passage to add interest and excitement to the mix. 3 minutes into the track the drums are dropped and the conclusion to the track begins with theme two first with bass drum and snare but finally ending on a series of duet synth arrangements, with a delayed solo at the very end. My score for this is 9 out of 10. It is well structured, has some interesting catchy melodies, there is excellent studio production with intelligent use of atmospheric sound effects to do the job of a cymbal, and skilled use of delay, reverb etc.

Hi Nigel , interested in your opinion on this one.

US2K Review: The track starts with a trancey synth and a few occasional bass drum sounds. After 10 seconds a full bass drum pattern shortly followed by snare accenting second beats but also varying after 8 beats. After 23 seconds a different synth sound leads with occasional laughter vox and other intentionally discordant beeps and stabs, drum rolls. This creates a fairly catchy rhythmic sound-scape. After 1 minute 22 the drums drop and then return the series of leads and sound effects and other new ones. After the minute mark things carry on this way but with more experimental changes, until a final ending on a raspy sound after 3 minutes 32 seconds. This is modern trance more for listening to not dancing too, although between the 2.48 mark and the 3 minute mark there was a temporary dance hook which due to personal taste I would liked to have heard for longer. My score for this mix is 8 out of 10. It shows imagination and great talent and is well produced and very modern.
