My first mix

Webmaster Review: The introduction with the bassline, drums, hat and clap is very good. There is a bass solo and drum fill leading to the main rhythm and bass running being joined by the lead instrument. You have and hi hat drop which makes a suitable break. For bars 39 to 58 the build up of instruments works well. The instrument solo later building back up to the main hook at 87 to102, and the conclusion 103 to 107 is appropiate. The structure of this track is generally good. The main musical theme fits the title well.. 6 out of 10 , a very good first mix

Another early mix, using the standard sample set and a few teaks. Hope you enjoy!

Webmaster Review: It has an interesting introduction that does sound like reams of paper being processed. After 46 seconds there is a repeated rhythmic 1:06 melody with drums until 1:41 mark, I would consider this to be the hook you chose. This seems to repeat too long though. For the 1:41 to 2:12 mark there is a suitable attempt at middle 8 bridge leading to a second theme on several instruments. From 2:43 your hook returns this time joined by other instruments from the 3:19 mark onwards. The 3:27 to 3:56 part of the track is a very catchy and would have been an excellent hook. The track is concluded with the second theme. My score as piece of music to listen or dance to is 5 out of 10, but 6.5 of 10 for backing to a computer game, animation, or a keyboard demo track. Although there is variation there is very few instruments playing most of the time so lack of a full sound.

Hi Nigel, last week(s) i give you lots of work with reviews of my tracks. I hope you don't mind? I want to say big thx for everything you do about ejay! Uploaded 28 Feb 2008

Webmaster Review: The introduction using the original sound effect and steadily building drum layers makes the listener want to dance immediately. The fade in of the melody hook is done very well, and the interval and drop of the drums at the 56 second mark creates anticipation for the rest of the track. The further variations of drum layers, melodies and harmonies and the false ending at 2 min 4 sec, created by dropping of all instruments is intelligent. The following melody solo twist and the new build towards the conclusion are great. Noah has really transformed the original, respect. Great to hear he is getting at ease with the effects now. The general use of arrangement, crashes rolls and other sound effects is spot on now. My score is 8 out of 10. To get higher I would have liked some strings at the 2 min 8 sec mark. The only thing I did on re-mastering was applied a compressor, as the rest seemed to be as intended.

Hello, This is a typical noahh tune. Enjoy!

Webmaster Review: The bass drum followed by the mellow introduction is affective. There is an intelligent drum roll and build of additional instruments. The fx intelligently used, possibly a little less reverb, echo on the snare at times, are you varying the echo as when rest of mix is playing and the snares need more definition I would ease up on reverb occasionally. There is a well timed drop of the drum at the minute mark, vocal solo followed by a skillful fade in of the melody, and the organ joins in well at 1 min 30, to create a catchy hook. At 2.05 there is another nice interval with an appropriate conclusion. There is intelligent rolls crashes etc and now fx too. My score is 7.5 out of 10. A higher would have been awarded if during 1:35 to 2:05 the vocal hade been repeated at least one more time to break up the repeating melody. Also your conclusion is alright but would have been better as a middle 8 instead, and the earlier hook return with another instrument or percussion towards the end.

Webmaster Review: Intelligent alternation of lead lines and percussion form the introduction. The main theme is introduced by a rising resonant filter riff at bar 35 1 m 4 sec into the track. Layers build from bar 45 and 51 and the existing lead is harmonised with a second lead. Clever filter affects create a feeling two melodies answering each other. For bars 64 to 73 uses reduction of percussion layers to create a followed by an exciting re-introduction of them. Later despite further rhythmic elements in the mix and a competent structure and conclusion things seem to get less interesting for me. My score is 6 of 10. Improvements would be at bar 73 a different melody, the same one at a different octave, or the pattern introduced at bar 110 soloed earlier to create an intense feel for a few bars. Then the main theme would be interesting again on return, the later clever percussive variations are not enough. This is competent electro worth a listen. I have remastered with reverb and filters.

Webmaster Review: The introduction is immediately suitable for the genre. Layers of percussion and drums build slowly. A nice touch is the extra shakers alternating left and right of the stereo field. The lead, although repeated for 56 bars, drives the track and is varied by being played on different synth sounds. A fitting bass enters at the 57 bar (1 m 43s) mark. Afterwards things get progressively exciting. The new bass at Bar 73 introduces the next bass line playing a melody. At bars 94 to 97 there is a well timed synth solo. The main groove returns, at this point the mix sounded trance influenced. The instruments drive the rhythm towards the end of the track which is the synth from the solo part.Score 7.5 of 10. Well structured Vangelis inspired sci fi techno but could have been varied more. The unusual drum pattern loses impact due to over use. A few fx and crashes would have added atmosphere. For mp3 mastering I have a little reverb, eq and compression. Also I faded it in, to add to the feel.
