Webmaster Review: This track is a science fiction techno film score track. It begins on a bass solo for 20 seconds. The bass is followed by a reverb affected synthesiser lead. After 32 seconds the track begins to build with the return of the bass and a succession of synthesiser accompaniments playing an introduction theme. After 1 minute 15 seconds, a hi-hat and snare enters the mix. By the 1-minute 20 mark a full drum pattern including bass drum and clap and driving the mix and everything else has become catchy with a series of melodies answering each other, which could be called the main theme for this mix. At 1 min 37 the drums are dropped for a few seconds and a mellow pad synthesiser sound enters the mix for a short whilst. Everything comes back in with the main theme. At 2 minute 3 sec mark the drums and the bass solo for a short whilst before a variation of the introduction theme. The track resolves rhythmic bass note riff drum solo, finally ending on some reverb-affected percussion. I rate this track a 6 out of 10 because it is competent but lacks this artist’s usual musical standard. For example in my opinion the introduction includes sections that repeat too many times without a crash or percussion, also the main theme, which I see as the best part to this track, finishes too soon. Despite my criticism the track is still worth a listen to sci-fi music and film score fans.

How you doing pal?! I am back after months. I recently checked j-jay site on the web and i found out that one of my mixes is9th in rank, I want to thank you for your gruelling efforts;-)

Webmaster Review: The style of this track is modern movie score Techno, and it is very worth a listen, but be warned you will have to do this more than once to really appreciate it. The track introduction begins with a mellow but rhythmic melody, joined by a melody that seems to answer the first. By the 32 second mark there is a more complex lead melody, afterwards catchy main theme harmony plays on a percussive instrument. After the minute mark a drum pattern enters the mix to drive the arrangement. Just when things could have became too repetitive at the 1 minute 30 mark there is a break from the rhythm to give some relief. An effective drum roll is used to reintroduce the drums once again. An interesting point is the few unexpected drops of the drums with only the harmony instrument from the arrangement playing to intensely remind the listener of the original theme. When the drums enter again a succession of new melodies are introduced, each answering the previous forming a climax, with occasional further reliefs from the drums towards conclusion. Anyone with advanced music knowledge at this point will realise whole composition at this point was a cleverest Paechbael like cannon combined with a subtle verse chorus theme change pattern formed by varied recurring arrangement combinations. My rating is a little lower than expected, 7 out of 10. This is partly on personal taste of musical style, and the fact I would like to have heard a few more slaps or crashes when music changes take place in the earlier part of the track. This is because I am sure some changes are a little too subtle for some to even notice on their first listen. The track is very good, and I particularly like the use of stereo panning, For the mp3, I have applied a little room reverb, compression of the mid frequencies to’brighten’ them, and occasional stereo enhancements, where there were already intended left right speaker effects.

Webmaster Review: Introduction has skilful use of vocals that are joined with a synthesizer affectively, The main track enters at the1:02 mark bass and drums, and a synth which will later form a hook and vocaland well timed sound fx progress to the 1:50 mark well where a lovely hook isannounced, then a well timed break on clap, vocal percussion. At 2:35 the hookreturns with two synths answering each other, and the track is a very catchyclub hit for about 81 seconds. At 4:10 mark there is another musical themewhich seems to work well to announce that that it is near its conclusion. At6:12 mark the track returns to main which is alright, but I would have returned to it a little sooner with the hook, The ending on the vocal and sound fx works well. This track was tricky for me to score as the intro and hook anthem section and wanted to score it between 8 and 10 for, but in my opinion the mix seems to lose its way a little after 6:29 mark. It needed the hook again beforeit finished, I was desiring its return and it never happened, at about the 6minute 4 second mark was the right time. I would have only scored this 6 out of10 as a result but the otherwise highly skilled mastering, and intelligentarrangement variations, use of sound fx and crashes etc. rescue this track. MyScore out of 7 out of 10. Touchy Feely definitely worth listening to, and others may score higher.

Worth a Listen

Webmaster Review: Wait for it begins with a nice Latin disco drum pattern and percussion including a whistle. A shaker and reverse cymbal 13 seconds into the mix breaks up the pattern. This is repeated a second time up to the 26-second mark. A succession of bass line instruments join the mix increasing the disco/funk feel. Later there are two synth leads, one sounding like a harpsichord, and. Both seem to answer each other’ s melodies. At the 1 minute 40 second mark there is a bridge in the mix consisting of a high octave solo synth, shortly joined by a resonant acid bass sample. A vocal, drum rolls and a crash announce the return of the drums and a new musical theme, which sounds like early 90s Latin house. Some vocal effects and percussive metal drums sounds drive the mix effectively for a short whilst. At the 2-minute 38 mark a mellow melody, vocals, sirens and other sound effects keep 'Wait For It' interesting up to the 3 minute 14 second mark. After this point, when the conclusion begins is of my opinion where this mix gets better and better. The guitar effects, acid lines, and rather catchy middle octave synth bass hook answered by a melody in the form of a jazz guitar or piano sample, really make the mix exciting. The final finish is a sound effect, a drop of the drums, and then a shortened section of the main conclusion. Instruments slowly leave the mix, and the track finally finishes on a siren and a drum roll. My original score for this mix was 9 out of 10, but since my review I think it could only get as score like that for movie or computer game music due to the fact it is slow to really get going. As a piece of chill out, carnival or listening music I would score it 7 out of 10. It is a good piece of music and worth a listen though and would be very good for mixing in with other carnival or Latin house/electro/disco music.

Webmaster Review: This is early house music. The track begins with drums, then bass, joined by catchy traditional house organs and synth leads. The mix progresses well, and by the 43 sec mark, we have a well established groove and hook, emphasised at the 58 second mark when the drums drop and the lead solos. Later the structure is very impressive with different synth leads taking it in turns and drops and variations of the drum pattern. Things generally flow well, building up and down with nice wave the arms solos, and by the 3.33 mark I was well into it. I recommend a listen by everybody as its a very good house track. My score is 7 out 10, as a few fx or crashes to put emphasis on changes would have livened it up a bit, for a wider audience. Also something about the introduction is less good then the rest of the track, perhaps the lead instrument would have sounded better faded in, as things seem jerky. I have produced an export wave and studio mastered the mix applying a few fades and fx

Webmaster Review: The 19 bar Introduction is great consisting of a lead synth with interesting variations of rhythm and percussion layers. The bass joins the mixfor 8 bars announcing another musical theme the main theme of the track. Layers build at bar 48 some drop but are replaced with a break beat pattern for 8 bars at 1 minute 26. Later there is a 16 bar middle section which varies the track well, then a variation of the main theme joined by a dreamy higher octave lead synth, bass line and the break beat. The conclusion forms from reduction in layers.Score 8 of 10. A complement, I dislike modern electro, but your variations and elements of drum and bass or break made me enjoy listening to this track. Suggestions for improvement are panning of instruments, a few fx, although this track sounds good anyway. One criticism is I wanted to dance to this but the break beat never lasted long enough. In mp3 master I have used Magix Audio studio 2005 to add a little eq,reverb and frequency band compression.
